Northern Softworks today announced an update to Leopard Cache Cleaner, its award-winning Mac OS X maintenance and utility application. Version 4.0 adds a new Emergency Disk creator which creates bootable emergency disks using either retail packages of Mac OS X or the installer disks that ship with Macs. In addition, it: adds the ability to optimize files, free memory and inactive memory; the ability to detect rootkits; new repair capabilities including the ability to repair Home Folder permissions and the ability to repair the /Volumes folder; and more.
