Synium Software announces CleanApp 2.0

Synium Software today announced CleanApp 2.0, the latest release of the company’s utility to remove programs reliably. Until now, CleanApp has used an identifier-key to detect associated files of an application. Without this key, no software is able to identify the associated files of a program, and therefore is not able to remove the complete set of files and folders, that have been created during installation.

Norton Confidential for Mac now supports Safari

Symantec let us know that Norton Confidential for the Macintosh phishing protection toolbar is now compatible with Safari. Users simply need to run LiveUpdate from within the application and they will receive the new functionality immediately (they will get a message confirming that they now have Safari compatibility). Once the update is installed, if Safari is open, they just need to quit and re-launch Safari. No system restart is required.

MacHeist now open to public with ‘Prize-Laden Mission’

MacHeist today announced that it is now open to the public. MacHeist is a Mac software event involving weekly “heists” for its visitors with free Mac applications as rewards.
