Pangea announces free software for schools

Pangea Software today announced that they are giving away free software and site licenses to any public school in the United States that wants one. For many years, Pangea Software has had a site license policy allowing a school to put any Pangea game onto all of the Macs at the school’s location, so long as the school owned at least one legitimate copy of the game. But now the policy has been revised so that schools do not even need to purchase that single copy of a game to get the site license.

MacUpdate announces new file mirroring and more

MacUpdate today announced two new features to its site — free developer file mirroring and a new Universal Binary search service. “MacUpdate now provides free file hosting for Macintosh developers. Instead of creating a complicated file management system with server clusters for hosting, we integrated the file upload and management seamlessly into the developer submission system,” notes the site.

April 18, 2006 — SMS Mac goes Universal and now supports AppleScript. With
SMS Mac you can send a text message (SMS) to any mobile in the world.

Simultaneously available are Send SMS 1.6, the award-winning Dashboard
widget, the Send SMS 1.6 Yahoo! Widget for Windows XP and the SMS Mac 1.6
Address Book plug-in. All versions are now Universal Binaries, meaning they
run native on Intel Macs. Also new is support for email2SMS gateways in the
US.

Newly released today is the SMS Mac Scripting Application 1.0. You can now
send a text message (SMS) from an AppleScript.
