According to our colleagues at iLounge, Apple has clarified a quote in a Chicago Tribune article where the newspaper quoted Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris as saying that iPods are designed to last for “four years.” What Kerris actually said, notes the story, is that iPods have a low failure rate and are designed to last “for years.”

Apple has seen a continuing increase in brand equity, according to a report on BusinessWeek, notes Macworld UK. According to the story, Apple’s brand equity has increased 14 percent over the past year. The results come from BusinessWeek and and Interbrand Best Global Brands survey. “Apple continues to be the style master with its expanded family of iPods and Macs. Its latest hit: the MacBook line of laptops,” the report states.
