MacSoft releases Halo Universal application

Destineer’s MacSoft unit today announced that the Universal version of Halo for Macintosh has been released. The Universal version runs natively on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs. Halo for Macintosh was originally released in 2003. Creating the Universal Application required extensive rewriting of the Halo code. As a result, MacSoft will not be releasing a patch. However, owners of the original Mac version of Halo have 2 options for acquiring the Universal Application.

Avid to enhance support for Intel-based Macs

Avid Technology today announced its plans to expand its range of video and audio content creation solutions that will be available for Intel-based Mac systems, including the new Mac Pro workstation introduced last week at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The Avid Video division expects to deliver new versions of its industry-standard Avid Xpress Pro and Media Composer systems for all Intel-based Macs by December.
