Apple recalls 1.1 million laptop batteries

Apple will recall 1.1 million laptop batteries in the United States that are at risk of overheating, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday, notes MarketWatch. The CPSC said an additional 700,000 batteries were sold outside the U.S. The recalled lithium-ion batteries were manufactured with cells by Sony Corp. The recalled lithium-ion batteries were used in iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 laptops.
