Apple to open new retail stores in Virignia, New York

Apple has announced plans to open two new retail outlets in Norfolk, VA and Lake Grove, NY on September 9th. The Apple Store MacArthur Center at 300 Monticello Ave. in Norfolk will be open to the public at 10:00 a.m. ET, and the Apple Store Smith Haven at 313 Smith Haven Mall will be open at the same time. As part of its usual Grand Opening promotion, Apple will give away an Apple T-shirt to the first 1,000 people to visit the each store. In addition, the company is offering a chance to win Digital Lifestyle Collections valued at US$2,229.

BeLight Software today announced the release of Image Tricks 2.3, the latest version of its image-editing and image-generating tool. Changes in version 2.3 include: four new image filters were added: Net Distortion (Pro version), Rectangular Splash (Pro version), Noise Reduction, Shaded Materials (Pro version); an option to see the image without filter effect is available (menu Filters->Hide/Show Filter Effect); keyboard shortcuts were assigned to various menu options to simplify program operation; and various other tweaks and bug fixes.
