Piper Jaffray, Apple dispute iTunes sales drop
Contrary to a Forrester Research report on weak iPod sales in the first half of this year, Piper Jaffray says that “iTunes has shown “strong growth,” reports Reuters.

Morgan Stanley raises Apple price target
Morgan Stanley analyst Rebecca Runkle has raised her stock price target for Apple to US$110 from $90, and reiterated her overweight rating, as new products add to revenue growth and Mac market share increases, reports MarketWatch. In addition, the analyst raised her 2007 earnings estimate to $3.13 a share from $2.58 and her 2008 forecast to $3.68 from $2.87.

A report issued by Forrester Research says that monthly iTunes music sales dropped 60% in the first half of this year, notes New Marketing. “The number of iTunes transactions declined 58% between January and June of this year, while transaction size fell 17%. Forrester based its findings on analysis of US iTunes debit and credit card purchases.
