QuickerTek has debuted what it says is the first Transceiver/Antenna for wireless networking that only requires a USB port. The Quicky (US$225) boosts wireless range and signal strength at least twice the standard range of the 12-, 15- and 17-inch Apple PowerBooks. “The Quicky is a small product that easily clips (temporarily) to the PowerBook case top and features a small antenna. The Quicky is a unique combination of the power of a Transceiver product and an antenna. It requires no computer skills to either set up or use and is completely transparent to the PowerBook user. Once Quicky is clipped to the case and the short USB cord is plugged into the PowerBook’s USB port, it’s ready to use.
