Rumored $500 iMac ‘not out of the question’

Piper Jaffray senior research analyst Gene Munster believes that the rumored $500 “headless iMac” would greatly appeal to potential switchers who would not consider Apple’s current pricing. “Based on our belief that Windows iPod owners and PC users irritated by security concerns are more apt to buy a Mac now than in the recent past, we believe that it is not out of the question that Apple would try to capitalize on this opportunity with a more widely accessible product,” writes Munster in a note to clients given to MacMinute.
