The new hub/organizer features a midnight black foundation, two arching aluminum beams, and three shelves, while the USB 2.0 hub and FireWire 400 hubs are discreetly placed inside the base.

Protesters demonstrate outside Apple HQ

A group of about 20 protesters picketed outside of Apple Headquarters in Cupertino, CA yesterday, complaining about the company’s policies on electronic waste recycling, reports Mercury News. The organizers say they intend a larger display outside San Francisco’s Moscone Center where Macworld Expo is being held this week. “Responding to years of criticism by environmental groups, Apple now offers its customers a fee-based computer take-back program,” notes the report.

Mariner Software releases MacJournal 3.0

Mariner Software today announced the release of MacJournal 3.0, the latest version of its popular journaling application for Mac OS X. In addition to a number of bug fixes, version 3.0 features nested journals, Wiki links, Menu item reorganization, full screen view, and more. Originally developed by Dan Schimpf Software, MacJournal 3.0 is the first release under the Mariner Software brand. It requires Mac OS 10.2 or higher, and is priced at $29.95.
