iSpeak It 1.7 adds full article downloading via RSS

ZappTek has released iSpeak It 1.7, an update to its software that allows you to take any document or Web page and convert it into an MP3 or AAC track in iTunes using your Mac’s built-in text-to-speech capabilities. This release adds full article downloading for news and RSS; batch processing capabilities that allow you to load multiple documents, download multiple URLs, and transfer all open documents to iTunes; improved PDF processing; and a number of bug fixes and usability enhancements. iSpeak It sells for US$12.95.

Pangea releases payroll processing app

Pangea Software today released a freeware payroll processing application along with its source code. The new application, called Pangea Payroll, is designed to help small businesses track federal payroll tax payments for their employees. “It started out as an in-house tool, but it’s such a useful thing to have that the decision was made to release it publicly as freeware, and to include the source code with the download,” teh developer said.

OmniOutliner 3.0.1 updates released

The Omni Group today released OmniOutliner 3.0.1 and OmniOutliner 3.0.1 Professional, free updates to the outlining and organizational applications for Mac OS X. The 3.0.1 updates bring stability and performance improvments, enhanced importing and exporting, as well as minor interface and usability changes. A Japanese localization is also included with this release. OmniOutliner 3 is US$39.95, and OmniOutliner 3 Professional is $69.95.

Canon rolls out new digital cameras, camcorders

At the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) trade show today in Orlando, Canon introduced a number of new digital imagaing products, including the EOS Digital Rebel XT SLR camera, new PowerShot compact cameras, and a trio of camcorders. The 8.1-megapixel EOS Digital Rebel XT (pictured at right) features an APS-C Canon CMOS sensor, DIGIC II image processing technology, and wide range of custom and manual controls in a smaller, more compact body than its predecessor.
