MacRadio announces contest to name new gaming program

MacRadio today announced a contest to name its new Mac gaming radio program, presently named MacGamers Radio. Apple involved in recall of iBook G4, PowerBook G4s

MarketWatch is reporting that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has disclosed a voluntary recall in cooperation with Apple of rechargeable batteries for iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 portables. “The commission said the recall covers roughly 128,000 units in the U.S. and that it was prompted by six reports worldwide of the batteries overheating with two of those reports coming in the US,” notes the report.

Macworld UK Award winners for 2005 announced

Macworld UK has announced the winners of its 2005 Awards, which were presented at an event held last night at the East Wintergarden, in London’s Canary Wharf. “Some attendees were so keen to get their hands on an award that they resorted to criminal tactics – Macworld has received reports that one of the must-have awards was stolen, soon to appear on eBay, perhaps,” notes the story.
