MindVision releases Vise X 2.0

MindVision Software today announced the availability of VISE X 2.0, a major upgrade to its Mac OS X installer product. Version 2.0 can export installer project data as XML, which allows developers to compare and modify the data with the tools of their choice. After working on installer projects outside of VISE X, developers can use the program to create new projects from the data in the XML files.

Snapz Pro X 2.0.2 offers Tiger compatibility and more

Ambrosia Software today announced the release of Snapz Pro X 2.0.2, the latest version of its popular screen/video capture utility for Mac OS X. In addition to Mac OS X 10.4 support, version 2.0.2 now uses hardware acceleration for many aspects of operation, which will make it faster on many machines; adds Traditional Chinese localization; and fixes several bugs. Snapz Pro X 2.0.2 is priced at US$69 and is a free update to registered users.

Au Naturel 1.1.2 video editing tool released

Buena Software today announced the release of Au Naturel 1.1.2, an update to their photographic tools for video editing. With this update, the directional blur tool no longer changes length as the angle of the blur changes. In addition to the directional blur tool, Au Naturel offers several other tools that produce more photorealistic results than the host applications’ built-in tools.

Forbes: ‘The Best Mac Dashboard Widgets’

In an article on Forbes today, Arik Hesseldahl makes note of some of the cool Dashboard widgets currently available — he lists his top ten. “Apple has been encouraging the development of widgets since it first demonstrated the Dashboard feature last year, and at my last count, there were 247 free widgets available for download from the Apple Web site.” Incidentally, DashboardWidgets.com has a MacMinute news widget, among many others.

Command & Conquer Generals 1.0.3 patch released

Aspyr today released a patch to Command & Conquer Generals. Version 1.0.3 includes fixes for the following: GLA disguised bomb truck crash, custom resolution pop-up menu for French and German languages, text truncation problems on Mac OS X 10.4, and non-functioning hot keys on Mac OS X 10.4. Licensed from Electronic Arts with the Mac conversion completed by i5works, the game allows users to become a general and control armies of military weaponry across a globe teetering on the brink of Armageddon.
