@Last Software’s SketchUp 5 available for download

@Last Software has made SketchUp 5, the latest version of the company’s 3-D design software, available for download. Version 5 introduces a large number of new user requested features including an updated user interface, added file import and export functions, improved DWG/DXF handling, enhanced sketching abilities, and some new tools including “The Sandbox.” SketchUp 5 requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later and is priced at US$495.00 for a single user license. New product announcements from Edirol

Edirol Corporation today announced the release of several new products. The company has updated it’s USB MIDI Interface line with three new designs — the UM-1EX (US$49), the UM-2EX ($49) and the UM-3EX ($89). Also introduced was the MA-1EX ($80) USB powered speaker system for mobile computer users. The new speakers feature a bass enhancer for a fuller sound, a 1/8″ headphone jack and S/P DIF output. Finally, Edirol announced a new version of it’s UA-1 series USB Audio Interface ($99).

Toyota to offer iPod-compatibility on Scion line

Toyota today announced plans to offer iPod compatibility upgrade options on its new Scion models, notes iPodObserver. “All Scion cars include a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo that can be connected directly to an iPod; the head unit pulls track, artist and album information from the MP3 player and places it in a one-line scrolling display on the screen.” The update is priced at US$260, including installation.
