Apple’s marketshare jumps in Q2

A report by research company IDC has noted that Apple’s market share in the US jumped 33 percent in the second quarter, now totaling 4.5 percent, notes MacObserver. “Shipments in Q2 2005 were 658,000 units compared to 495,000 in the same period last year. The 1.2% increase puts Apple in fourth place among manufacturers,” notes the story.

Elgato Systems has announced that EyeTV software, which enables users to watch, record, edit and archive television on their Macs, can now be purchased separately and used in conjunction with third-party hardware from Plextor and TerraTec.
