MacUpdate.com has announced the release of version 2.0 of their free Dashboard widget, allowing users to view the latest releases, customized by category, and search the entire software title database from within the widget without loading a Web browser. “This widget has some really advanced transition animations and backend functions to make it really simple to use, and at the same time very appealing to the user’s eye,” said Joel Mueller of MacUpdate. “Our first widget release did well for simple functions at 14,000 downloads.
