Apple’s iTunes grabs 80% of UK market

The iTunes Music Store in the UK has gained 80% of the market share in the UK, reports Macworld UK. “Citing figures from the Official Charts Company (OCC) Apple declared iTunes to be the number one UK digital music service, with over 1.7 million songs in the UK catalogue.” The site also notes that Apple is making Jamie Cullum’s new album available for pre-order now before it “digitally ships” on September 13.

Applescript event announces speaker, expanded coverage

The organizers of AppleScript Pro Sessions today announced that noted author, TidBITS contributor, and “Man of Opinions” Matt Neuburg will be teaching at the upcoming Chicago sessions. Neuburg will lead a session on AppleScript Studio and Automator at the five-day event October 31-November 4. The Chicago event also includes expanded coverage of scripting InDesign, as well as other major publishing applications including Photoshop, QuarkXPress, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
