Pixar Animation Studios today announced the release of RenderMan for Maya 1.0, the studio’s next-generation 3D rendering plug-in. “Now all Maya artists can enhance their productions with the functionality and prestige of Pixar’s Academy Award-winning RenderMan, the benchmark against which all other rendering solutions are measured,” the company notes. Available on both Mac OS X and Windows XP, RenderMan for Maya can be purchased directly from Pixar’s online store for US$995.

Apple to open retail store in Brea, CA on Nov. 12th

Apple today announced that it plans to open a retail store in Brea, CA on Saturday, November 12, 2005. The store is located at 1065 Brea Mall, Space #1024A, and Apple plans the Grand Opening for the public at 10:00 a.m. PT. The company has also said that the first 1000 people to visit the Apple store receive a free Apple T-shirt.
