WiebeTech today introduced Maxelerate, a high-performance boot drive for Apple’s Mac mini, offering up to a 500GB 3.5″ hard drive, a FireWire hub and a USB2 hub integrated into an all-aluminum enclosure which matches the Apple Mac mini design, says the company. The Maxelerate, which is scheduled to ship in mid-September, features an enclosure thermally engineered from aluminum, with an integral internal die-cast heat sink and fan for maximum cooling; FireWire 400 Hub with 3 ports (daisy chainable); USB2 Hub with 3 ports; support for 3.5″ IDE Hard Drives up to 500GB (Maxelerate also available in a configuration without hard drive); and a built-in power switch. Pricing starts at US$119.95.
