Digital Video Expo West to offer Apple certified training

CMP Media’s Digital Video Group today announced that its 8th Annual Digital Video Expo West conference program will feature certified training programs in major professional video applications from Apple and Avid, conducted by instructors from each company. Apple will present its Apple Certified Pro courses, which run two-and-a-half days each and feature hands-on training in the following applications: Final Cut Pro HD, Motion, DVD Studio Pro 3, and Logic.

iMac G5 demand strong; Apple retail risk has passed

In addition to raising iPod sales and first quarter Apple earnings estimates, Merrill Lynch analyst Steven Milunovich also said that demand is strong for the company’s iMac G5. In a research note to clients, Milunovich raised iMac numbers slightly from 240,000 units to 250,000 in the December quarter and from 874,000 to 900,000 for the year. He also notes that Best Buy is now selling the iMac G5 on its Web site.
