CNN/Money senior writer Paul La Monica looks at the possibility of Apple acquiring Pixar now that the animation studio and Disney have split up. “After all, both companies are run by Steve Jobs. And Apple, with its huge success in the online music arena, is beginning to look more and more like a content company, as opposed to a pure hardware firm. Font Reserve gains Panther support, more

Extensis has released Font Reserve 3.1.3, the latest version of its font management application. This free update for registered users includes Mac OS X 10.3 Panther compatibility, an auto-activation XTension for QuarkXPress 6, and a new Adobe Illustrator CS plugin. Extensis says Font Reserve provides a “single point of access to all fonts on a user’s Mac making it easy to address the challenges of finding and activating the right font fast.”

iPods used during making of ‘Rings’ films
