Apple to open mini store in Bethesda, Maryland

Apple will open a mini retail store in Bethesda, Maryland, on Saturday, December 11. The new store is located at 4829 Bethesda Avenue, next to Cameron’s Seafood Restaurant. The first 500 people to visit the store will receive a free Apple Commemorative T-shirt. Apple opened a full-size retail store in Bethesda at the Montgomery Mall this past May.

Apple most likely to grow market share in 2005

Morgan Stanley analyst Rebecca Runkle has lowered her 2005 PC growth forecast to 9 percent from 11 percent, citing better-than-expected performance in the PC market in 2004, as well as signs of a slowdown in the market late in the year. In Runkle’s view, however, Apple shows the best chance of gaining market share in 2005. She said Apple should continue to benefit from the momentum of the iPod and iMac G5. Runkle also said Dell and Gateway should do well.
