‘Opener’ script ‘not an immediate threat’ to Mac users

Despite many tech sites reporting on the “Opener” script, MacFixIt says that it is not as dangerous as it is being made out to be. “There is no immediate threat with which to be concerned for this, or any other malicious shell script currently in circulation — running the ‘opener’ script and allowing it to do any damage requires root authentication, which must be locally entered by a Mac OS X administrator,” reports MacFixIt.
