FireWire Depot today announced the FWB2ATA35D, a compact FireWire800 to ATA Dual 3.5″ bay external enclosure. The FWB2ATA35D is ideally suited for tailgate interface applications for two /IDEATA HDDs without taking up much desk space. It allows IDE drives (Master and Slave or Cable Select pair) to be connected to a FireWire (IEEE 1394) serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion. The FWB2ATA35D is priced at US$179.99 and is expected to be available for shipping December 13, 2004.
