A few weeks ago, MacMinute noted that Microsoft had warned of a security hole in Windows that gave hackers the ability to create a special JPEG graphics file that when viewed through Internet Explorer, Outlook, Word, or other software, would give the attacker control of the PC. The BBC now reports that the first images created to exploit this vulnerability have shown up on the Internet. The poisoned images were posted to a porn newsgroup last weekend and were found by Usenet provider Easynews. Mac users are unaffected.
