In an effort to curb illegal downloading of music on campus, Florida State University is close to finalizing a deal with Apple that would presumably provide a customized version of the iTunes Music Store for students to legally purchase tracks. According to a report by the student paper FSView, the project could go into effect sometime in September. The license agreement is currently under legal review by FSU officials and will close soon, said Carl Baker, the director of university computer systems at the FSU Academic Computing and Network Services Department.
