“This is so cool,” Duke University freshmen were quoted as saying as they received their iPods Thursday. According to The Chronicle, the iPods had “Duke Class of 2008” engraved on the back and came pre-loaded with several orientation features, including an address from Duke president Richard Brodhead, an audio tour of campus, the university’s alma mater and fight song, phone numbers for campus health and safety resources, and an academic calendar. As previously reported by MacMinute, Duke and Apple announced in July that they had teamed up to distribute iPods to all freshmen as part of an initiative to encourage creative uses of technology in education and campus life.
