In an unconventional “Byte of the Apple” column this week, Business Week’s Alex Salkever writes an apology letter to Apple CEO Steve Jobs. It turns out that when Salkever wrote a column back in January, 2004 dismissing the iPod mini as “too pricey” and “destined to flop,” he received an email from Jobs asking that if his assumption was incorrect he would publish an apology — publicly. “Well, the mini is not a flop. In fact, it’s a hit. I can’t deny it,” writes Salkever in his latest column. “So, here’s my apology, Steve. The mini is no Cube. I was wrong, and you were right.”
