Photoshop User has named the dual 2GHz Power Mac G5 as the “Ultimate Photoshop Machine.” Today at the Mac Design Conference in Chicago, Scott Kelby, editor-in-chief of Photoshop User explained why. The magazine compared a Dell Precision 650 workstation with the Power Mac G5 running a variety of Photoshop actions. Overall, they were neck-in-neck in most tasks. So why did the Power Mac win? The Dell is US$6,134 while the Power Mac is $4,723 — or 25 percent less.
