WiebeTech today announced the DuoGB800, a new dual drive enclosure with FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0 interfaces. The two drives installed in the enclosure will mount as separate drives under Mac (9.1, 9.2, OS X) and Windows (2K and XP). Additionally, DuoGB800 takes advantage of the built in RAID capability of OS X, allowing users to easily stripe or mirror the drives. The DuoGB800 is available in a configuration that allows users to install their own drives. It is also available in a variety of pre-configured versions with capacities of up to 800GB. DuoGB800 will start at US$179.95 and is expected to begin shipping May 27.
