Vara Software has introduced Wirecast for Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), a simple broadcasting software package built for the professional Webcaster. The product’s 3D rendering engine leverages Quartz Extreme and your Mac’s graphics card to offer broadcast quality output with very little CPU usage, according to the folks at Vara Software. Wirecast, which is US$599, is optimized for multiple processors, fully supports QuickTime and ISO MPEG-4 streaming by leveraging QuickTime/Darwin Streaming Server.
