Alias today announced Maya 6, the next version of its award-winning 3D animation and special effects software. Maya 6 includes hundreds of new features and enhancements that Alias said were requested by Maya users from both large and small organizations working in film, broadcast, game development, digital publishing and visualization markets. Some of the new features include improvements in character creation and character animation capabilities; a 20-50 percent increase in software rendering times on Mac OS X; Adobe Photoshop integration; and a new embedded Web browser.
