Approximately 10,000 students from eight Georgia schools participated in Delta Campus MovieFest, which is touted as “the world’s largest ever student film festival.” Throughout the spring, teams of students at the schools (Emory University, Oxford College, the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College and Spelman College) used Apple laptops, iMovie digital video cameras to create short movies with the theme of “Lift the World.” Winning teams from each school won round trip tickets to any location in the U.S. Each school’s moviemaking culminated in a Delta Campus MovieNite, replete with red carpet, prizes galore, and a beaming klieg light. The best movies from each school will be shown at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 19. Tickets are US$15 per attendee.
