International Typeface Corporation (ITC) today introduced several new exclusive typefaces, including ITC Kahana, ITC Puamana, ITC Christoph’s Quill, and ITC Chivalry. ITC Kahana, by Teri Kahan, conveys a tropical influence, evident in the font’s bold vertical strokes and alternative decorative capitals. ITC Puamana, also from Kahan, was first used as apparel art for a Hawaiian clothing company. ITC Christoph’s Quill is “the culmination of experimentation with a graphics tablet that spanned several years,” according to designer Russell Bean. ITC Chivalry is a calligraphic hybrid that adheres to the tradition of combining Roman capitals with italic lowercase letters. The new fonts are priced at US$39.95 each.
