Marathon Computer has announced it is shipping its vertical rack mounting solution for Apple’s Power Mac G5. The company’s G5 RackMount, which is made of heavy-duty aircraft aluminum and steel, is vertical rackmount solution allows two G5s to be rackmounted upright without any modification of its case. Specially-shaped clamps, contoured to fit the G5’s handles, hold the machine at front and rear on a rigid, reinforced rackmount deck. Rackmount also allows a single G5 to be mounted either in the middle of the case, or to the right or left, leaving room alongside it for other equipment. The Marathon G5 RackMount is priced at US$199.
