Apple has released iPod mini Software 1.0, a utility for “Updating” or “Restoring” software on the iPod mini. Apple notes that “Update: Installs iPod mini 1.0 software on your iPod mini. Songs and other data on iPod mini are not affected,” and “Restore: Erases the entire contents of your Pod mini, resets all iPod mini settings, and then installs new software.” This software is only compatible with the new iPod mini and will not work with any previous model of iPod.
