MacMall is currently selling the refurbished Power Mac G5s that were used in Virginia Tech’s powerful supercomputer cluster. As MacMinute reported last month, the university is migrating the system to 1,100 Xserve G5s, which will “take much less power, generate less heat and free up space.” The dual-2GHz Power Mac G5s offered by MacMall come with 1GB of RAM and are priced at US$2,799. “Own a piece of history,” reads the promo page on the Apple reseller’s site.
