SanDisk has introduced the 2 GB SanDisk Extreme and SanDisk Ultra II CompactFlash cards, the largest capacities available in the company’s line of CompactFlash cards for digital photographers. The cards are targeted mainly at the professional digital camera and prosumer markets where 4 megapixel or higher resolution digital cameras require faster digital filmcards. Each of the new cards features a minimum write speed of 9MB per second and a minimum read speed of 10MB per second. Pricing for the Extreme CompactFlash line ranges from US$109.99 to $849.99; pricing for Ultra II CompactFlash cards ranges from $99.99 to $799.99. Both come in capacities from 256MB to 2GB. SanDisk has also announced a line of Shoot & Store $14.99 flash memory cards designed to let users save pictures indefinitely without using a computer for downloading.
