Mozilla.org has released Firefox 0.8 (formerly Firebird), the latest version of its lightweight Web browser for Mac OS X. The update offers a new download manager; improvements to bookmarks handling; improved handling of extensions; and a new default theme for OS X users. Mozilla has also updated its Thunderbird e-mail client. Thunderbird 0.5 includes the ability to synchronize address books with Palm devices; IMAP performance and interoperability improvements; secure password authentication using SSPI NTLM for SMTP and POP3; improved LDAP support; and numerous other bug fixes and improvements.
