Panic today announced the release of Unison, a Usenet newsreader for Mac OS X. Unison offers easy-to-navigate threaded discussions, the ability to ignore annoying posters, multiple signature management, Mail-like posting with spell checking and more. “Usenet is a long-forgotten but incredibly cool Internet thing—it was the first global sharing system, for messages, files, and more, and it still thrives today,” Cabel Sasser, co-founder of Panic, told MacMinute. “Unfortunately, getting on Usenet hasn’t been easy in the past. With Unison, we’ve tried to boil down all the goodness of Usenet into an incredibly easy-to-use and Mac-like client. We think it’s the best Usenet client on any platform, but of course, it’s only on Mac OS X, just the way we like it.”
