Other World Computing (OWC) today announced that it has reduced prices by as much as 10 percent on many of its 7200RPM Mercury Elite Pro FireWire 800+400/USB 2.0+1.1 and FireWire 400/USB 2.0+1.1 external storage solutions. Mercury Elite Pro FireWire drives are available in 40GB to 320GB capacities, with FireWire 400+USB models starting at US$136.99 and FireWire 800+USB units priced from $199.99. The largest price reduction is found on the 160GB FireWire 800+400/USB 2.0+1.1 drive with an 8MB data buffer, now reduced to $259.99 from $289.99. Other newly priced FireWire 800+400/USB 2.0+1.1 solutions include the 200GB unit reduced to $309.99 from $329.99, and the 250GB unit for $379.99 down from $399.99. Both units feature an 8MB data buffer. Substantial reductions can also be found in the FireWire 400/USB 2.0+1.1 line of Mercury Elite Pro storage solutions.
