Discreet on Monday introduced a Mac version of Combustion 3, its award-winning visual effects, motion graphics and 3D compositing desktop software. The company said Mac users will experience increased productivity, flexibility and improved workflow through such enhancements as customizable brushes, savable presets, timeline markers, and DV capture and output. New features include Editing Operator, which allows users to assemble video with transitions directly in Combustion without having to use non-linear editing software (NLE); Expressions, which enables artists to easily create complex animations; and Macromedia Flash output. Combustion 3 for Mac OS X is expected to begin shipping in early 2004 for US$995. Upgrade pricing from v2 or 2.1 is US$199.
