Logitech announces force feedback support for Mac OS X

Logitech officially announced today that its force feedback joysticks, steering wheels, and vibration feedback gamepads will be supported by Mac OS X 10.2.3. Current Logitech products that will be supported on the Macintosh platform include the Logitech MOMO Racing wheel and WingMan Formula Force GP racing wheel, WingMan RumblePad and WingMan Cordless RumblePad gamepads and the WingMan Strike Force 3D and WingMan Force 3D joysticks.

APC recalls two uninterruptible power supply models

American Power Conversion (APC) today announced a voluntary recall of two models in its Back-UPS CS uninterruptible power supply (UPS) line due to “potential safety issues that may result in overheating and represent a potential fire hazard.” The total number of affected devices being recalled worldwide is approximately 2.1 million with approximately 900,000 devices recalled in the U.S.

Apple downgraded by Needham & Co.

Needham & Company has downgraded Apple stock to “hold” from “buy,” saying it’s unlikely that the company will outperform until growth returns in the December quarter, even if Apple can gain market share. Needham cut its fiscal 2003 estimate to 22 cents a share from 40 cents.

MacVCD X 4.1.6 fixes QuickTime 6.1 menu issue

Mireth Technology today released MacVCD X 4.1.6, an update to its movie player that plays Video CD, Super VCD, and Quicktime movies. The new version fixes a full-screen menu problem. “The QuickTime 6.1 upgrade from Apple resulted in several problems with applications that use full screen windows. In our MacVCD X product, after users upgraded to Quicktime 6.1, menus titles would highlight in the menu bar but the menus themselves no longer appeared to drop down.
