Formac upgrades feature set of TV/media converter

Formac today announced an upgrade program for its Studio dv/tv FireWire media converter. The upgrade program allows owners of the Studio dv/tv to upgrade their device to take full advantage of Apple’s new iMovie 3 software, and adds digital audio recording capability with up to 48 Khz at 16 bit. Owners of Formac’s latest version of Studio dv/tv, equipped with an EPROM version of 1.06 or higher, can upgrade their device for free by downloading the new software package from the company’s Web site.

Apple offers “Getting Started Bundle” for WWDC 2003

Apple is offering developers a “Getting Started Bundle” for this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, which takes place May 19-23 in San Jose, California. The bundle includes a WWDC 2003 E-Ticket, an ADC Select Membership, an ADC Select Hardware Discount, and access to all WWDC 2002 sessions on ADC TV and last year’s WWDC 2002 Conference Sessions on DVD-ROM for US$1,695 (a savings of $500). The “Getting Started Bundle” is avaialbe until April 18, 2003.

Alepin updated to version 2.3

MacChampion has released Alepin 2.3 (US$10), an update to its Mac OS X application designed to take the place of the Note Pad and Scrapbook applications found in the classic Mac OS. New features include the ability to import hierarchies of Text, RTF, RTFD and HTML (limited to mostly text) files, support for drag and drop of URLs, better URL detection, and more.
