AppleScript Pro sessions coming in June to Monterey

Shane Stanley of Myriad Communications in Melbourne, Australia, and Ray Robertson of Scripting Matters in Atlanta are teaming up to offer five days of AppleScript Pro Sessions in Monterey, California, June 2-6, 2003. The first day of the sessions is an introduction to AppleScript and subsequent days will look at scripting real-world applications. Early Bird pricing (available until May 1) is US$400 per day, with discount packages offered for attending three days or more. The discounted fee is $1500 for all five days.

New Apple products released at launch party in China

Yan Feng, President of the Beijing Macintosh User Group (BeiMac), let us know that Apple China has released the new iMac, eMac, Power Mac and PowerBook systems, as well as Safari, Keynote, Final Cut Express, iLife and the 20″ monitor to the Chinese market in a launch party on 19 February in Beijing, China. LaCie ships DVD authoring software

LaCie has announced that it is now shipping CaptyDVD, a full-featured DVD authoring application for the Mac. The software allows users to create customized DVDs with drag-and-drop, offers an enhanced chapter feature, and burns DVD discs and Video CDs. It supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and QuickTime movies as video sources, and also supports NTSC and PAL standards.
