Hilton Hotels, Borders and McDonald’s to offer Wi-Fi access

Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Borders Group and McDonald’s are the latest companies to collaborate with Intel to help promote “hot spots” for high-speed wireless Internet access, reports c|net. The hot spots will utilize Wi-Fi technology, also called 802.11b — the standard Apple’s AirPort is based on. Hilton plans to install the access points at nearly 50 of its hotels in major cities in North America within the next 30 days.

Desktastic 3.0 adds Wacom tablet support, more

Panic today released Desktastic 3.0, a new version of its “Li’l App” that lets users draw directly on their Mac OS X desktop. Desktastic 3.0 adds a number of features, including Wacom tablet support for pressure sensitivity and erasing, auto-saving of drawings on quit, the ability to print drawings, configurable toolbar positioning, and a “Drawing Layer” preference that lets users tuck their drawings out of the way underneath the Desktop icons if desired. Version 3.0 is a free upgrade for all Desktastic owners.
