Apple to attend 2003 JavaOne conference

Apple will be one of the co-sponsors of Sun’s 2003 JavaOne conference, which takes place June 10-13 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. “The JavaOne conference, one of the world’s largest developer conferences, is the definitive platform for discussion focused on the latest innovations and success stories in Java technology.” As a “Gold” sponsor, Apple will display its Java technology-based solutions in the JavaOne Pavilion on June 10-12 from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Eovia releases plug-in set for Carrara Studio

Eovia has announced the release of Power Pack, a set of 14 plug-ins for Carrara Studio 1.1 and 2.1, and Carrara 3D Basics. Power Pack offers users the ability to add fur, hair and similar strands to characters and models, add depth to their objects with displacement mapping, add a starry background to 3D night scenes, or use the new shading functions to concoct their own collection of original textures. Power Pack is available for Mac OS 8/9 and OS X for US$89 until March 31, 2003 ($99 after).
