Watson 1.7.1 released, new ‘TuneFinder X’ freeware available

Karelia Software today announced the release of Watson 1.7.1, a maintenance upgrade to its Eddy-award-winning desktop interface to over twenty of the most popular Web services and content. The company also released a new freeware application, TuneFinder X, which indexes over 13,000 musical themes and melodies. Watson 1.7.1 fixes several bugs, adds a few new feature tweaks, and is priced at US$29 for a single user license.

OWC drops prices on FireWire DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW drives

Other World Computing (OWC) today announced that it has dropped its prices by 26 percent or more on DVD-R/W and CD-R/W FireWire storage solutions. The Mercury Pro DVR-105 DVD-R/RW+CD-R/RW optical drive, which offers both FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces, is now priced at US$340. The Mercury Pro 52x/24x/52x-speed CD-R/W drive also features FireWire and USB 2.0 ports and is now priced at $129.99.
