Sonnet Technologies today announced the Allegro FW800 adapter card, the latest addition to its line of FireWire PCI adapters. It installs into any available 64-bit or 32-bit PCI slot of a Power Mac or PC, and adds three 9-pin FireWire 800 ports (IEEE 1394b) for connecting high-speed digital peripherals. The Allegro FW800 is priced at US$89.95 and will be available next month.
